rest, shame, love

I can’t get this song out of my mind.  I went to see Augustana last week with a friend and the song just sank into my soul.  (They’re great live, btw, but David Ford really stole the show.)

I know that I never read lyrics when my friends post them in their blogs, so I’ll keep my lyric c&p short.  I think that’s because songs just don’t have the same power as poetry as they do when they’re sung.  It’s a beautiful song.  Somehow it reminds me of loves long past.

Rest, Shame, LoveIt’s the wrong dream, with the wrong man
With a cold gun, in your own hand
Get it right this time, get it off your mind
Let the summer rain bring rest and shame and love…
