Andy & took off for a nice bike ride this afternoon. It wasn’t quite as long as the ride to Redhook, but it was a beautiful day to ride down to Alki Beach, grab a beer and enjoy the scenery before heading back up the hill home. I even got lemonade from a couple kiddies on the way home from an actual lemonade stand for one-whole-dollar!  Man, talk about inflation… but so worth it.

On the ride, Andy and caught up about several things including life, love, work, politics and how much we enjoy living in Seattle.  It’s just so beautiful here, with so many great people, and so much to do.  It got me thinking about the past 2-3 weeks and all that I’ve done… it’s been a busy month!

Oh, The Places You’ll Go!

Just as the good doctor says, only you can tell the places you’ll go.  This fall brings for me that event that almost every high school (the musical?) graduate loves or loathes: the 10 year high school reunion. Plans have been made, R’s have been SVP’d, and I’m not part of them.  But the thought of where we’ve all gone in the last 10 years got me thinking.

my brother’s keeper

(or, damned to hell part II)

Ah, yes, Cain really had it come’n to him.  Having readily dispatched Abel for arguably poor reasons, Cain was getting ready to have his ass handed to him by the lord-someone’s-god. A voice from on high: “Hey, Abel, where’s your brother?”  Simple enough, but Cain had to be a smart ass in his response thus giving us the “Am I my brother’s keeper?” colloquialism which still lives on today.
