I\u2019ve realized that over the course of the last year I\u2019ve gotten in the habit of responding to most proposals with the phrase <em>\u201cI don\u2019t hate it\u201d<\/em>. That\u2019s about the most praise I can muster for most ideas \u2013 not because they\u2019re bad ideas, but because they\u2019re incredibly hard problems with no bright, shiny solutions. And only bright, shiny solutions truly deserve more praise than that.<\/p>\n<p>&#160;<a href=\"https:\/\/kmwoley.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/imag0271.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border-bottom: 0px; border-left: 0px; display: inline; border-top: 0px; border-right: 0px\" title=\"IMAG0271\" border=\"0\" alt=\"IMAG0271\" src=\"https:\/\/kmwoley.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/imag0271-thumb.jpg\" width=\"244\" height=\"184\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>That led to a conversation with Matt today about how to level set those statements against other less common phrases that I also use:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201clove\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201clike\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cnot bad\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201cI\u2019d buy that\u201d<\/li>\n<li><strong>\u201cI don\u2019t hate it\u201d<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong><font size=\"4\">\u201cI don\u2019t love it\u201d<\/font><\/strong><\/li>\n<li>\u201care you sure?\u201d<\/li>\n<li>\u201chate\u201d<\/li>\n<li><strong><font size=\"3\">\u201cloath\u201d<\/font><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/p>\n<p>This was all brought on by an idea to which I responded \u201cnot bad\u201d\u2026 I think it surprised him that I didn\u2019t hate it. :)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It turns out I\u2019m hard to please\u2026 at least at work.
