Entertaining the Ladies

My Aunt Sue and my mother came to visit about three weeks ago and I’m just now getting around to getting the pictures up and blogged about.  Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t exactly stellar for their visit, but the time we had was super.  I kept the ladies busy by taking them out hiking through the wet hillsides of King County and wondering the required tourist trap that is Pike Place market.  I think they had a great time.  There were a number of firsts to be had on this trip, including what we think was my Aunt’s first ever martini.  I find that hard to believe, but I was glad to be part of showing her the error of her ways.  You’ll be able to tell from the pics that she certainly enjoyed it.

the prince, maharaja, and I

The three of us took a quick overnight trip to Vancouver, B.C. to eat and club.  I had never met the Maharaja before Saturday morning when we left on the trip, as he’s a friend of the Prince.  The Maharaja is a stellar individual: vibrant, fun, witty, intelligent, and all around a good man to know.  It’s wonderful when the friends of friends end up being just as great as the friends themselves.

The Prince & the Maharaja were the instigators and planners of this trip and I was largely along for the ride.  The plan was simple: eat in Chinatown, swing through the Punjabi district, and then have dinner at Vij’s.  The rest of the evening would be spent drinking & dancing at a random venue TBD.
