I still cook with Cumin

And I still have the Christmas gift she made for me in 2003 on my wall.  I still have this lil plastic tub with a pink lid from a Hindu mission in London that once transported left-overs to my place, and a plastic mug that ended up as mine by similar acts of fate.

grillage

The long weekend wrapped up nicely with a sprinting spree of apartment cleaning on 2 hours of sleep and then several hours of grilling & drinking on the front porch.  There really isn’t much else to say but that, and that the pics are in the usual spot.

staycation

This has been the most amazing weekend thus far, and it’s only 2/3 of the way over.  Heck, it’s just been a great week.  While I was pretty bummed that I didn’t get to go backpacking like I had hoped to, it turns out that I made the right choice. My stay-at-home-vacation has been so damn much fun that I’m apparently going to write way too much about it, so here we go…

bits flying everywhichway

And so I’ve been brightkiting… and twittering… for all about half a week.  It’s been my new toy, and like all new toys, it’s gotten way more use than is probably warranted.  So, for now, it’s hard to say if it’s really all that better than my other favorite toys.

risk adverse?

Tomorrow my entire org is taking the day off of work to go white water rafting.

The water level tells me that it will be an absolute blast, and I’m really excited to go.  But given most recent post-surgery pangs-of-mortality I’m doubting the wisdom of this endeavor.  I’m normally moderately risk adverse; fear whilest rock climbing, jumping out of airplanes, pushing my body’s limits power lifting, etc. have never kept me from doing risky things at least once, if not several times.
